The commune comprises some 15 villages and hamlets. Basse-Nendaz is the administrative and parish capital.
Close to Sion, the commune of Nendaz lies in the middle of the Rhône valley, on the left bank. Its vast territory of 8,593 hectares has several unique features: it follows the contours of the valley of the same name and stretches from the fertile plain to the eternal snows.
Nearly a quarter of the land is forested. It plays a notoriously protective role, guarding against the devastation of erosion and avalanches. The valley is bisected by the Printse, a tumultuous river that is both the source and outlet of a multitude of irrigation channels.
Nendaz is crowned with magnificent peaks, such as the Rosablanche (3336 m), the most beautiful alpine viewpoint in central Valais, and the Mont-Fort (3330 m), now accessible to all thanks to the ski lifts.

HAUTE-NENDAZ
Overlooking the Rhone Valley, this resort provides access to the 4 Valleys ski area.
In winter, snow sports are king here. The vast choice of slopes - over 400 km in all - means that beginners and experienced skiers alike can enjoy snow-covered slopes.
Follow Nendaz-Freeride and Verbier Extreme from Mont-Fort. Ski, snowboard, sealskin and snowshoe outings on marked trails for all levels.



The 4 Valleys ski area:

410 km of pistes and 89 lifts in a single package: the 4 Vallées ski area flirts with the infinite. Its countless possibilities, as well as the quality of its snow cover and sunshine, make it an exceptional site in more ways than one!
With the Mont-Fort glacier (3,330 m) as its highest peak, this ski area is a delight for both experts and novices alike. Open from November to the end of April, it links the resorts of Verbier, La Tzoumaz and Bruson, as well as Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon.

The resort of Nendaz is constantly evolving to meet the expectations of its many tourists. The latest innovation is the "nec plus ultra" in alpine construction. It has completely revolutionized the resort's social life.
