Situation
Basse-Nendaz is a village located in the hills above the Rhône Valley, in the municipality of Nendaz. It is a close-knit community with schools and several local shops and services, including a bakery, a grocery store, and a few places where residents can gather on a daily basis. Families also benefit from the village’s schools and after-school programs.
The village is located halfway between the Rhône Valley and the Haute-Nendaz ski resort. Municipality
The municipality of Nendaz stretches from the plain to the mountainous areas and includes several villages and hamlets. Haute-Nendaz is the resort’s main center. It offers a fairly wide range of shops and services for a mountain town: grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants, cafés, sports shops, as well as various services useful for everyday life. The resort thus enjoys a certain degree of self-sufficiency, while remaining close to Sion and the valley floor.
Nature is very much a part of the entire area. The many trails allow visitors to explore the municipality’s diverse landscapes, from forests and meadows to higher-altitude areas. The bisses are also a distinctive feature of the region and offer numerous opportunities for walks, many of which are family-friendly. Depending on the season, hiking, mountain biking, mountain activities, or simply strolling through nature are among the options available to residents.
In winter, skiing plays a major role. From Nendaz, the ski lifts provide access to the 4 Vallées ski area, which connects Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon, and Verbier, among other towns. With its many slopes and high-altitude areas, it offers a vast terrain for skiers of all skill levels. Other winter activities, such as snowshoeing, sledding, and ski touring, are also popular in the region.

Public transport
Public transportation: PostBus from Sion to Haute-Nendaz and Siviez.
By car, Sion is less than 15 minutes away, depending on traffic, and Haute-Nendaz is less than 10 minutes away.
On foot, Haute-Nendaz is a 40-minute walk along steep trails.
Leisure time
There are many opportunities for hiking and mountain biking directly from Basse-Nendaz, with nature right on the village’s doorstep. Several sports clubs, including gymnastics and volleyball clubs, are also active here. At the entrance to the village, there is a paragliding landing area as well as a cliff equipped for rock climbing.
The surrounding area also offers a variety of recreational options. The soccer field in Beuson is just a few minutes’ drive away, while the Îles site at Les Gouilles d’Aproz, with its relaxation and swimming area, can be reached in barely fifteen minutes.
The activities and facilities in Haute-Nendaz and the 4 Vallées ski area are also easily accessible. Skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and shops are just a few kilometers from the village and can be reached by public transportation, on foot for the more athletic, or by car in about ten minutes.
Culturally, the proximity to Haute-Nendaz and Sion offers a wide range of options, while Basse-Nendaz and the surrounding villages preserve a local heritage that reflects the region’s history and rural character
